How do I setup Jaxx Liberty desktop wallet?

With Jaxx, you can also import an Ethereum paper wallet. Private keys are encrypted and stored locally. The following step-by-step video guide will show you how to install Jaxx Liberty on your desktop. Please note that this video includes the Windows operating system version. For a dedicated guide for Mac users, please scroll down to see the text guide below.

This guide will be based on the desktop version (I’m using a Mac but the set-up will be almost identical for a PC) but you will be able to find a link herefor mobile.

At this point, we’re just going to assume the Linux folks already know what they’re doing!

First things first, let’s head over to https://jaxx.io/downloads. Here, you’ll see all the bragging rights I mentioned earlier:

From here, click on ‘Desktop Versions’ and you will see the following:

Download driver asus x45u windows 7 64 bit. Again, I’m on a Mac so am clicking the orange tab to the left.

This screen will then pop up and I would suggest on either platform, save to the desktop as you’re only going to use this once.

Once downloaded, on the Mac, you will see the following.

Simply click once on the Jaxx Liberty icon and drag it across to applications.

BitPrime is not Mac-centric so if you Windows folks out there want to see a similar guide, again, get on down to the comments section and we’ll make it happen or watch the video at the top of the page.

That said, if you are on a Mac and gone this far, head over to Launchpad and find the Jaxx Liberty App.

Approve it, and here is what you will see when it opens up.

Compared to the original version, this one looks a bit nuts but we’re good.

Head to the ‘hamburger’ (the three stacked lines) in the top right corner.

From here, click on Back Up Wallet.

Here’s your next screen. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR WALLET SETUP!

Nobody is looking, right? Click the check-box and then Start Backup.

You’ll see 4 words. Write these and all the others down and keep them in a safe place (think fire-proof safe type place).

Obviously, click Next 4 words once you’re ready to go through. Here’s what it looks like.

Once you have hit screen 3, you’ll be asked to confirm the backup phrase. Here’s what you’ll see.

From here simply enter each of the 12 words in 1 by 1. This is the screen you’ll see.

Type them through and hit confirm.

As far as set-up goes, from here we are done. You should see this.

Everything written in that screenshot is super important. Read it twice. All those words you wrote down before are your backup phrase. You NEED these to gain access to your Jaxx wallet.

It’s also really important that you keep these words to yourself. In this instance, I did screenshot some info but this wallet was set up for demonstration purposes only. Please NEVER share your backup phrases or private keys with anyone.
